A quick note to say well done to the girls for last week’s fantastic win away at Guildford. It might have rained the whole journey there but that didn’t dampen our performance against a strong side in the plate last 16.

We started on the front foot, pressing effectively and transitioning quickly to our forwards. The first half was an end-to-end exciting affair, with both teams taking turns to score. We went into the break breathless but 4–3 up. At half time, we spoke about keeping the ball, moving into space to create options for each other, and lots of communicating.

The second half saw us tighten up at the back—credit to our defenders, and to Isobel who made a couple of outstanding saves. From there, we dominated the game. Hats off to our midfield, who worked incredibly hard against some very strong county players and really won the battle in the middle of the pitch. Up front, Grace was on fire making powerful runs into the D and scoring an impressive six goals. Well done to Maisie, who played her first Tier 2 game. Millie also got on the scoresheet, giving us a well-deserved 7–3 final result. What a performance from everyone!!

Next up is the Plate quarter-finals, the draw has just come out - mark your calendars for 1 March against familiar foes 7oaks lightning. Before that though, we have league matches so plenty of chances for more game time - we’re lucky to have such a strong squad of players.
