We thought we had the points

It maybe a cliche, but this really was a game of two halves. From the off, Wells put the pressure on Kings Alleyns and we had some good breaks, eventually leading to a lovely goal pushed in by Shelly from a cross. This was a genuine team effort and was quickly followed by a number of shots and a second goal by Amanda (first goal of the season & looked pretty shocked by the result, we've all agreed, she should keep her eyes open more often when standing next to the goal post). 2-0 up at half time, both teams were a little in shock. The Awesomes looked like they had a good chance to take the points and set the 2nd half of the season off with a bang. Alas it was not to be. Some mysterious new players appeared and lifted their level of play, quickly pulling one goal back, then two, early in the second half. Wells could only watch as the number 50 slammed the ball in the net to equalise. Despite some valiant defending it wasn't to be Wells' day and a third goal followed. A disappointing end after such a promising start but we battled hard.
