A brief jog around the park, stretches on an old tennis court and a quick catch-up on how our weeks had been and we were ready to go!
Burnt Ash Ladies 4's, unsurprisingly seemed slightly more match ready and hit the ground running, attacking strongly from the off. A goal mouth scramble lead to Burnt Ash's first goal with the TW's defence desperately clearing the ball with the power of a knat.
We picked ourselves back up and holding some width, made for a fast break. Corrie broke her dry spell and got on the end of it and deflected it in.
Excited by a motivating half time talk and a shed load of Jelly Babies, we started the second half with energy. This sugar rush was short lived as Burnt Ash, who had changed format (and who also must have had a motivating half time talk), came on the counter attack. An interception from a free hit put the opposition through for an irritatingly easy goal with 10 minutes to go. The final push, although frantic, was fruitless in the end and those points eluded us once again.
