We knew this was going to be a tough game as Herne Bay were the current league leaders.
I did a good dive to save a goal and one really good save, other than that I played badly, so I'm not sure how I got nominated Man of the Match but oh well. The rest of the team worked hard and played well. It was a pleasure to play, which is rare for me to say, if I've been playing in goal during a match. At half time we were only 2-0 down, which we of course think the opposition were lucky with their goals and our forwards were terribly unlucky to have missed or been saved. So we went into the second half full of confidence. I can't trash anyone on the pitches reputation but it would have been nice if someone had scored. It was a really nice match and I really enjoyed it. We went to match tea with a smile, knowing we had tried hard and that we were about to get chip shop chips for match tea. We tried to hide the disappointment on our faces when they arrived with jacket potatoes. We were soon laughing again though when Sarai walked though the door saying she'd followed a Herne Bay player to Sainsburys. Just in time for us to vote for Donkey of the Day.
