A mix of the old and new combine to come from two goals down to win 5-2 as five more juniors make their senior league debut for the club

A mix including wiser heads and several youngsters well-schooled at Judgey's academy played out a thoroughly enjoyable game against Maidstone last Saturday as the Club fielded a 6th team in the South/Kent leagues for the first time in a long time... Five youngsters were making their senior league debut in the game, including one of our Flyerz.

Despite falling behind to two breakaway goals in the first half - Wells dominated the game from the beginning. Ben, Josh and Ollie W all had chances that might have gone in on another day and it was one of the youngsters Hal who pulled back one goal before the break as he confidently fired home after Ethan G's initial short corner strike was saved.

With Dudley, Chris and skipper Richard controlling matters at the back and through the middle - more than ably supported by Oli B who tackled and distributed well throughout - and Rory doing much of the running in the middle, it was no surprise when Josh was able to level the scores early in the second half. As the game wore on, only one side was going to win with Ben notching a brace and Rory a late final goal to secure an impressive 5-2 win, Ethan M and Ollie W heavily involved in these. Jamie pulled off a couple of fine saves in goal in the second half to ensure that the margin of victory remained comfortable.

As well as witnessing an excellent blend of youth and experience combining well in the game - both teams should be thanked for their attitude throughout with not a single complaint or word to the umpires and for a game played in an excellent spirit just as hockey should be.

Thanks too to Mitch for running things from the sideline - and to Richard ("100 % record as skipper") Williamson for leading the side on the field...
