The U12 boys had an early start at Holcombe but they were all really looking forward to playing the matches albeit they were a bit slow out of the blocks in the first matches. The day was a classic mix of wins, draws, and losses for both teams who found the Canterbury 'A' and Folkestone 'A' teams particularly difficult opposition on the day but faired better against their respective B teams and Holcombe. The effort from all the boys was outstanding and the coaches were most proud of the boys constantly playing hockey the right way, using the width, having the confidence to turn out of contact, retain possession and change the direction of the attack. This was commented on by some of the parents on the sideline.
Some great goals were scored by the boys including George J with his first, Harry S and also Max who had three attempts to flick the ball in a row finally beating the GK with the third.
Special mentions for Harry S, Beau B and Emilee for helping the teams out to make sure we had the numbers to actually play the matches. Emilee in goal deserves a special mention for some tremendous displays.
Well done to all.
