The boys take control

We arrived at Holcombe with the only adults being myself, Nick & Scott. The onus was therefore on the boys to step up and take ownership in this tough away fixture. Within 2 mins we were 1-0 up, Mack tirelessly chasing down a defender who made a poor pass to his team mate in the D who was promptly robbed by Sam and made to pay with an accurate hit into the bottom left corner. In a rare moment of defending sloppiness we then conceded equally quickly but that was the last real mistake we made. A short corner strike put us 2-1 up and then a flowing passing move between Ethan.G & Judge senior covered 60 yards and resulted in a tap in for Mack to go into half time 3-1 up. The 3 adults then all played at the back and watched the boys take Holcombe to task in the 2nd half. We dominated possession with Toby impressive in the centre half role and wave upon wave of attack commenced. The boys were rewarded with 2 goals - an impressive top of the D reverse tomahawk from Zach and then a powerful SC drag flick to Mack to take him to 12 league goals for this season. We continue to roll on, still 7 points clear and with 2 games in a row against top 4 teams upcoming we must maintain our high level of play.
