A dominant display

We welcomed Brombecks to Fortress Kent College as our nearest rival in the league table. A win would take us 7 points clear and we were highly motivated as the game began. A 4-0 scoreline after 20 minutes reflected this motivation; 1 corner (Finn, becoming a set piece specialist with his skilful deflections, 1 calm dink from Mack over an on-rushing goalkeeper and with a goal apiece from the 2 old heads in midfield thanks to excellent lead passes from our boys. At this point the Coach took himself off so he could enjoy watching the boys run riot. The half time talk focused on keeping to our high standards and patterns of play. We created an equal amount of chances but were a little less clinical, one corner secured and then Sam was rewarded for a high level display with a deflected goal at the end. Brombecks gamely fought on and scored 2 goals of their own. The forward interplay between Mack & Sam was hugely encouraging and Tommy & Toby alternated between defence & midfield very adeptly adding solidity to our shape and general play.
A 6-2 win with 6 games to go and in truth, there is still more to come from this side which is worrying for everyone else !
