A home game versus local rivals, Marden Russets. Tunbridge Wells were looking to push on to make it 4 wins from 4.
A special mention to Sam Headey, Sam George, Francis Bridgeman and Neil Taylor for arranging the junior part of the day, we hope that all the juniors enjoyed it, we certainly did and with their support on the sideline, it pushed us on to get the 3 points.
An early goal scored by Connor Poulain from a short corner relieved some pressure. Marden were unable to break through into our defence 23 due to some solid defending from the midfield and defence lines. Another trademark Connor Poulain drag flick saw us go two up. We continued to pepper the Marden goal keeper, but former T wells player Angus Crawford stood strong in between the sticks. A few chances towards the end of the half went begging and we went into the half two up.
A change in formation at half time saw Tunbridge Wells with a very early second half goal from Bailey, after some solid work on the right hand side by Kyle and Sam Headey. Marden struggled to find any type of momentum going forward and didn't really threaten the T wells backline until the last 10 minutes. Again, Tunbridge Wells continued to find space in the opposition D and challenging the Marden goal keeper. A late goal by a Kyle from the second phase part of the corner routine put us up 4 goals to 0.
Another clean sheet and 4 goals, putting Tunbridge Wells Men's 1s on the top of the table after some results went our way. We play Oxted away next weekend, hoping to continue our great run of form.
