5 goals and a clean sheet to the good!

A home game Vs Lewes Mens 1s who finished 11th last year, but no game is easy in this league.

The game started with an equal amount of possession for both sides, T wells managing to enter the opposition circle on multiple occasions early on with unfortunately no outcome. Lewes grew into the game and also managed to create some opportunities. The first goal came from Connor Poulain with a trade mark drag flick to the GKs right hand side.

The Tunbridge Wells defence stood strong with some great deep defending through long periods in the first half. A slightly nervy first half ended and with a few key words from coach Sam George and Manager James Watt and a slight formation change at half time, Tunbridge Wells came out the blocks, winning the ball multiple times high up the pitch and putting pressure on the Lewes back line. Another trade mark Connor Poulain drag flick, Connor gave the home side a 2nd goal in the first few minutes of the second half.

With the formation and press change, Lewes struggled to find any space that was open to them in the first half. A lovely carry from Sam resulted in a penalty flick that Connor put away calmly for his hatrick. A lovely team goal involving forwards Sam George, Sam Headey and Charlie Cable gave us the 4th goal and any potential come backs from Lewes were now out of sight.

Even with a slight push from the Lewes forward line, the T wells defensive line stood strong with some strong defending from Dan, Harry, Kyle and with a few quality saves from Matt in goal. The 5th goal to seal the 3 points came from a swift move between midfield and the forward line, Aaron squaring the ball across to Bailey and with an open net infront of him, slotted the ball into the goal.

A contrast of two halves saw the hosts secure the 3 points, with next week's game Vs Holcombe, last year's 2nd place side, it'll be a tough affair.
