Tunbridge Wells Men's 1s last pre-season game

The final pre-season game saw the Tunbridge Wells Men's 1s travel to local rivals East Grinstead to play their Men's 2s XI.

The game started with both teams pushing to find the first goal, EG had a nice run of play but were unable to break through the Tunbridge Wells defence. The first goal came from a swift move of 3 passes from Harry to Luke to Headey to Huntley, the ball was placed at the top of the D for Huntley to slap the ball underneath the goal keeper.

Another counter-attacking goal shortly followed to bring up the 2nd for T wells with Charlie cable getting his name on the score sheet.

Tunbridge Wells continued to press efficiently in the front 5, winning the ball on multiple occasions further up the pitch. Huntley even found himself 1 on 1 with the EG GK and was awfully fouled, luckily it was a friendly otherwise their goal keeper would have been shown the cheese.

A few encouraging words from coaches Sam and Tom spurred the lads on further. After changing to a different out letting platform, Tunbridge Wells found success on the width, the next goal came from Kyle, a courageous run down the right hand-side and a 1-2 with the EG GK sealed his first goal of the day.

The 4th and 5th goals came from short corner routines by Sam and Kyle, both converting at close range.

The Tunbridge Wells defence stood strong with Matt only having to make two saves all game.

A fine team performance offensively and defensively builds into the first game of the league season next week Vs Blackheath away.
