Jonathan Taylor (JT) and JD O'Brien have already secured major recognition, having been named South East Area winners in their respective categories. JT won the Unsung Club Hero Award, recognising his outstanding voluntary contribution to the game, while JD was named Outstanding School Engagement Award winner for his work introducing and growing hockey in local schools.

As Area winners, both now progress to the national stage, at a celebration of the Spirit of Hockey, where they will be up against the winners from England Hockey's other regions for the overall national award.

The club itself has also been shortlisted for the national Diversity & Inclusion Champion Award, one of four clubs and groups recognised nationally for their work in making hockey more accessible, welcoming and inclusive.

For a club of our size to have three nominations represented at the national awards is a tremendous achievement and reflects the energy, commitment and values that run throughout the club.

Whatever the outcome, the South East Area awards won by JT and JD are outstanding achievements in their own right and deserved recognition for all they do, and the fact that Tunbridge Wells Hockey Club has three nominations represented on national awards evening is a testament to the dedication and hard work of all our volunteers, as well as a reflection of the club's ethos and commitment to bringing the enjoyment of hockey to as many people as possible.
