It’s not just EHL Premier Division sides Surbiton and Old Georgians that are flying the flag for English clubs at the Euro Hockey League Finals in Den Bosch over Easter weekend. Joining them will be a combined London & South East team made up of players from a selection of Flyerz Hockey clubs, who will participate in the EHL Hockey ID Tournament which runs alongside the Finals in Holland!
They’ll be competing against teams from Germany, Belgium, France, Spain and the Netherlands — and it’s the first time an English side has been invited to take part in this incredible tournament, which is now in its third year.
Four of the team are TW Flyerz - Ellen, Ollie, Ollie and Tim, with the other representatives coming from Forest Flyerz and Wayfarers Flyerz. You may also spot a couple of our older hands who are part of the coaching team.
It's also a fantastic step forward in aligning player pathways in Flyerz with the rest of hockey, something TW have been looking to progress for some time, and hopefully will lead to more opportunities for competitive and representative hockey for Flyerz players going forward.
We wish the team well in Den Bosch this weekend.
