David was a fine hockey player in the same mould as Robert Lancaster (but better!). He started playing for Tunbridge Wells in the middle 1950s and was a fixture in the 1st XI (and for Kent), for 15-20 years playing on the right-wing.
David qualified as an Architect and worked in a practice in TW, but his real love was as a watercolour artist, at which he excelled.
David became a professional artist in 1975 specialising in traditional and topographical subjects and published 4 books on the subject of “A voyage round Great Britain” following in the footsteps a painter called William Daniel.
David’s son, Nick, played for Tunbridge Wells for a few years until he went to live and work in Ireland.
The club would like to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Addey family and we will remember David fondly.
