Flyerz is England Hockey's name for hockey for those with physical or learning difficulties or disabilities.

We were recently visited by SportEngland's Club Matters and Access Sport who put together a wonderful video at one of our sessions which you can view here.

Tunbridge Wells Hockey Club is proud to have launched TW Flyerz in the autumn of 2017 and to be the first club in Kent to offer this.

Hockey is a sport that's easily adapted to different ability levels, so there’s huge potential for hockey to become one of the leaders in disability inclusion. England Hockey want more disabled children, young people and adults to have access to our sport. TWHC through TW Flyerz is committed to delivering this to our local community.

We have a dedicated group of coaches and helpers (several of whom have children of their own who participate in Flyerz) to offer Flyerz sessions.

These sessions are truly open to all and we offer these sessions FREE of charge and provide all equipment.

We ran our first session on 24 September 2017 which was as much fun for us to put on and run as the enjoyment that it gave the participants - and this is an example of the feedback we received:

"I thought that you might like to know that Serena now considers herself a hockey player and a keen sportswoman! We have found an old hockey stick and ball and she has had a go on a tennis court!

So a VERY BIG THANK YOU - hope it goes from strength to strength!"

Read the article in the Times of Tunbridge Wells about the launch of TW Flyerz here and about the exploits of three of our Flyerz representing England at the European ParaHockey Championships in Barcelona here.

We would like to thank the following organisations for their support of TW Flyerz enabling us to bring this wonderful opportunity to our community.
