England Hockey guidance - discipline and behaviour
Spectators' and visitors' responsibilities
Tunbridge Wells Hockey Club is concerned about the wellbeing and enjoyment of players, officials, spectators and visitors. In the interest of everyone please read and at all times have regard to the spectators' and visitors' responsibilities. This applies to all including officials, parents, families, friends, players and any guests.
England Hockey guide to pitchside conduct
And there is an 'England Hockey guide to pitchside conduct' which must be observed at all matches. The leagues will take action against clubs and teams that are found to be regularly in breach of these guidelines. Match officials will report breaches accordingly.
England Hockey code of ethics and behaviour
Matters of discipline on and off the field are governed by England Hockey (EH) procedures and policies. From the 2008/9 season these are incorporated in a wider Code of Ethics and Behaviour. The Code applies to all including officials, parents, families, friends, players and any guests.
The disciplinary issues of principle concern for players and umpires during the season are the issuing of red cards during matches and of Match Day Misdemeanour Offence (MMO) reports outside of match play, and both are governed by the EH Code. The official EH guide to the Code can be found on the EH website. It is however the full Code that should be referenced in establishing the procedures that apply to particular situations. These policies and guidelines can be read in full on the England Hockey website.
